Array ( [sid] => 131278 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Behind Closed Doors [time] => 2007-02-01 21:37:15 [hometext] => I recently read a book called behind closed doors.. It was an auto biography about a little girl who was badly abused and had a terrible childhood yet she is still standing! It was so inspiring that I wrote about her so this is dedicated to her. [bodytext] => Sitting in my room horrified of his smell
Holding my breath hoping he will forget
No one around, no one to tell
As my infant body begins to sweat

Living in fear only awaiting an escape
Hoping to grow wings and fly away
Every night endless rape
Dreaming of a vengeance day

Too young to fight back
Too small to tell him to leave
A child’s world goes from white to black
As all he does are moans and heaves

Cigarette smell on his breath
His fingers so coarse
I will dawn on the day of his death
While he feels no sudden remorse

Hell awaits his evil soul
The Lord will punish what he has done
He never took the father role
Instead he had his perverted fun

A mother hesitates to save her child
From a monster with a steel fist
A while we live a game so wild
That for everyone there was a twist

Hatred will eat away my heart
And revenge will take its place
Hope gave me a new start
To never again feel such disgrace.

You took this and wrote it so well on such a very real and painful subject. It is sad that this sort of thing goes on in our world.

truegirl, I sit in awe of a master poet with the hopes that maybe just a little of your refined talent may rub off onto me. This poem is beautifully done as the visions created within my minds eye became vividly clear which all poets strive for. Thank you for sharing both your awesome talent and for giving us all some of you. As I begin to close this comment I would ask that you continue to let your pens ink flow across sheets of paper as we your readers eagerly await your next poetic caper.

Child abuse should not be tolerated in any way, shape, or circumstance. My heart goes out to the countless millions of little children abused across the whole world.

I got chills reading this. Certain lines really struck too close to home for me. Excellent expression of pain. Nice Job.
