While going out for a walk one day.
Rummaging my brain to find an answer,
To convince the non-conformist;
I walked down pensively.
The mystique Universe; the unexplored
Space, beyond human comprehension,
Suddenly stirred in me a revelation.
Oh! That is where the abode,
The domain of God is.
I see Him stand majestically,
Over the snow capped lofty mountains.
I see Him move,
Along the fleeting silvery-dark clouds.
I hear His mellifluous voice,
Through the harping of the birds,
Echoed down the lush green valley.
I see Him propel with His oars,
Upon the vast expanse of the deep ocean.
I hear His laughter,
In cascade of water, tumbling down the rocks.
I intensely feel His warmth,
In the life sustaining rays of the Sun.
I feel His touch refreshing,
Through the balmy breeze, floating gently.

Well God is there, every where.
We are blind to see Him,
Through the Nature’s exposition.
We are deaf to hear Him,
In the ring tones of living things.
We are dumb,
To speak to Him and speak for
Our poor and suffering brethren,
To seek His blessings and benevolence.

* * *
I shared my thoughts with my friend,
That his misconception be dispelled.
‘If that is so, why He is ruthless at times,
Causing death and destruction,
By unleashing devastating Tsunamis,
Harrowing hurricanes, belching volcanoes,
Dreadful diseases and gruesome accidents.’
Seething with anger, he retorted.
Unrelenting, I hopefully continued.
‘By our misdeeds and sinful thoughts,
We infuriate Him
To resort to such punitive action.’
I added, on a very uncertain note,
‘May be His benevolence and strength
Linked to our collective deeds and thoughts;
As we fast degenerate into ‘inhumane beings’,
By our wicked thoughts and wrong deeds,
God, our benefactor, is constrained to act defiantly,
To mend our ways that we lead a life, righteously.

* * *
I turned towards my friend for his reaction,
All that I saw on his face, a sarcastic grin.
He was not convinced, it implied, readily.
I don’t know the truth, either, honestly.
‘Well, do you?’
