Being a Christian's not a spectator sport.

Though not back in the time of old Nero.

Back then Christians were really a sport of a sort

and lions dined well on these heroes.

A discriminating lot not lacking in taste

were fed to the lions with hardly much waste.

And while fiddling around, Nero noticed the ground

was strewn with Christians most bitter.

Then standing most proud announced to the crowd,

"Eureka, the first 'kitty litter".

So he set it to verse.

Nu? Perhaps mine is worse ?

though the Christians weren't very attentive.

Well, I guess that's not fair, they'd

their own cross to bear

and really lacked any incentive.

Still the Christians have thrived

and spread far and wide

through their history they've proven most violent.

Yet the lions have not

their numbers have suffered a lot

and their roar has become increasingly silent.

The Romans are long gone

though their coliseum goes on

an attraction for tourists to view.

Though no bloodletting there

It is most else every where

in lands that the Christians accrue.

Perhaps if Nero'd but fed lions to Christians instead

and..... if they too cheated and lied

and stood religiously for peace,

perhaps killing would cease.

For we know lions can handle their pride
