Array ( [sid] => 12930 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Valentines Day [time] => 2003-02-19 09:20:00 [hometext] => Here's a poem I wrote on valentines day... it's about love, of course... read it, tell me what you think... thanks! [bodytext] => It's Valentines Day
the day for lovers
the day that love is perfect
lovebirds roaming the towns
as sleepy-eyed lost puppies
hearts flying,
colliding with those of whom they cherish
eyes glittering with passion,
heart soothed by but one touch.
It's Valentines Day
the day for lovers
yet are there not those who are not those who are loved?
are there not those who are the sun
burning for love,
yet only able to watch the rotations of lovers
ellipsing hypnotically,
day in and day out
but It's Valentines Day
the day for lovers
yet these who shine on others,
who burn their flames for all to see
but never seem to be noticed.
these who are only able to watch the passion
igniting the fires of others souls,
become skeptics of love
hating love, yet deeply yearning for love,
desire to the extent that inspires hate,
hate that is forever lingering
until the day, the moment
in which they fall hopelessly into orbit with another
drifting aimlessly, yet meaningfully
through eons, feeling love,
fulfilling every need, every want,
and smiling,
knowing love, loving love,
and sobbing with love when they know,
It's Valentines Day
the day for lovers.

Wow....that is so good! I wasn't so sure at first, but then it hit right there, right at the center of my heart..... How wonderful!

good write! very observant... or maybe you feel/felt this way? i have felt similar sometimes... i have started to doubt love, but at the moment i don't... feeling unloved or unnoticed isn't something i would wish upon anyone! good poem, though! Helmut :+>
