We could have made it,
At least we had tried,
But our dreams have faded,
And our hope has died.
It all was so easy,
So easy before,
But now pain has seized me,
And I love no more.
What once was, is gone,
Love turned to regret,
I was just a pawn,
Just one of a set.
Our love had betrayed,
We cannot return,
To days unafraid,
Where love used to burn.
It's easy to live,
To live in regret,
But harder to love,
To love and forget.
It all was so easy,
So easy before,
But now pain has seized me,
And I love no more.
You left me bleeding,
And left me to die,
So now I lay seething,
And wondering why.
I whisper goodbye,
Softly in your ear,
And here while I cry,
You shed not a tear.

Between the title and the very last line this radiates poem...
the meat of this piece is music a kind of cobalt 'blues'
that had me sayin 'oh yeah, shes coldhearted woman' as you reveal your 'heart aint made of iron'...
As poem and song well done.
