Array ( [sid] => 128634 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => So Young [time] => 2006-11-24 16:35:15 [hometext] => This poem was written about my friends daughter, who sadly took her own life at the tender age of 21, Lets hope she is now at peace. Sue x [bodytext] =>

She lies upon smooth satin sheets,
Rose petals strewn around, not neat,
Her skin as white as porcelain,
In peace she lies , no sign now of pain,

She is dressed today in her Sunday best,
Her arms are crossed upon her chest,
Her eyes closed tight, her lips so pale,
And on her head she wears a veil,

A crucifix she has round her neck today,
And rosary beads in her hands we lay,
For this beauty has taken her final breath,
Her heart has stopped within her chest,

So young she was, just a child,
A gentle girl , so meek and mild,
She suffered but never once complained,
She fought to the end despite her pain,

So this beauty lies on her satin sheets,
Rose petals scattered around ,not neat,
She lived her life, and so young she died,
And only the Lord in heaven knows why [comments] => 5 [counter] => 246 [topic] => 39 [informant] => jerseysue [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

It's so sad when someone decides they can no longer face the world.
For what reason she felt it easier to end it all nobody may ever know.
My cousin died at just 19, though it was illness that took her.The pain for those left is still the same

Condolences to you and your daughter. I'm so glad you decided to post this my dear friend. .Such a tragic loss of a young life. It saddens my heart to know the way she died.
May her soul rest in peace.
Once again you have penned such a beautiful piece of poetry that touches the heart~
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your daughter & the young lady's family~
much, love, hugs n prayers,

The portrait you paint
is cast in the perfect light:
"...only the Lord in heaven knows why"

The arc of your words evokes the tears of loss...

The valley of the shadow of this poem is with me...

Peace
AJ
