Array ( [sid] => 127538 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Who needs to breathe? [time] => 2006-10-28 20:50:24 [hometext] => This is the sequel to Don't let them, so it would be best to read that one first, but either way . [bodytext] => You always will
I can’t get rid of it
You created a space for yourself inside me
Just because you leave doesn’t mean the space is filled
It’s empty now
I don’t know if it can be replaced in the same way
You care for a few weeks
Then I disappear
Do you know what it is like to disappear?
I don’t think you do
Or else I wouldn’t
I fade away
I didn’t go out with a bang
Or sparks or fire works
I fade away
Like your breath on a cold morning
It is there, but it loses shape and identity
I’m just another face
Another face looking at everything but you
But I am staring right at you
You just don’t look to see me
I wave
You give me a half smile
And then you walk away
I look back, you don’t
I give it thought,
You don’t give it anything
You don’t give me anything
You are selfish
But why do I still love you?
You give me no excuse to
At least give me an excuse
I’d love to appear again
The morning suddenly gets colder
Your breath reappears
You look at it, it amuses you
It fades, you forget it
Why shouldn’t you remember?
It is only breath
Who needs to breathe anyway?
