Ecstasy's Chance

When I look inside an eye I sleep inside an ocean And dream of things to come But not today
Restlessly I wait But hopefully I ponder If ecstasy would care To chance my way
I dream of a golden shell That I glanced upon one time That held a pearl Of modest Purity
I found it hard to comprehend A treasure such as I would find Would bless this inner warmth On such as me
I only wish I could again Cast eyes upon this glorious find If by now, my worth It has not passed
If past allegiance would not conceal And memory could slowly heal Then God may find that love Is yet my path

Wow, this is lovely.
Loving the rhythm in particular,
I really like the way the last line of each stanza
is shorter/has less beats than the rest.
Powerful.
Kat.
