It is the simple things
that help me rise to the clouds
on silvery wings.

A simple kiss on the cheek
from a lady that is dear,
Or her arm around me
As she pulls me near.

The laugh from the lips
of a towheaded gnome
as she giggles with glee
and welcomes me home.

Her tender little words,
as she tells me to stay,
She orders me around,
a little game we play.

When I am there,
my old age disappears,
and the ladys wisdom
Belies her tender years.

After a bite of lunch,
I am back on my way,
Happy and refreshed
For the rest of the day.

I only hope
I can somehow repay,
Simple kindness she shows

I have found in my life,
It is the simple things
that help me rise to the clouds
