Array ( [sid] => 126921 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Her Little Star [time] => 2006-10-14 17:51:46 [hometext] => A dear friend of mine recently had an abortion...I wrote this for her. This poem is not deciding if abortion is right or wrong. It is simply for her. [bodytext] => She walked alone
Along deaths cold corridors

So tenderly
She held a tiny light within her womb
Her tears falling behind her footsteps

The bitter silence
Of her own despair
A crime of forsaken love

Looking toward the heavens
But only seeing black clouds
She felt the rain
Against her skin
She felt the rain
Run deep into her heart

Some mistakes
Time will never heal

She lay in the bed
Of her own sanity
Holding the Little Light

No one heard her screaming

White roses
For the one about to lose
White roses
For you, my dear friend

Time passes so slowly
The Little Light stirs
Such a small amount

The empty footfalls
Of the inevitable
Appraoch

Cold hands hold her own
Hot tears glide down her cheeks

The time has come

The Little Light begins to dim...
Slowly
Fading into nothing
Fading
Now darkness

The cries of grief
Of guilt
Are now silenced by this sight:
Such a small light
Almost unseen
Floating so carefree
Up into the sky
Up
Up
Touching the moon

This Little Light
Has no worries at all
Leaving this world far behind
Becoming a beautiful star
For all the world to see

And as she looks up at the sky this night
This young girl
Despite her terrible sadness
She smiles
For she can see
Her beautiful Little Star
Twinkling next to the moon
Not a care in the world

A tiny Star
Now smiling
