where the white picket fence lay open,
and the willow swayed its soft branches below the moonlight,
it had an intense shine,
I knew she was safe now,
away from the sorrowed streets that became her home so suddenly,
the wildflowers slept that night alone,
and the full moon's shadow, etched the branches of the willow,
and the small tiny toad, sat under the bench,
I think he missed her,
That evening, I went to see her,
she never looked so good,
she was resting, on an old leather loveseat,
in her upstairs apartment,
I believe she was dreaming,
she looked so fresh, so visible, so vibrant,
silent angels must of sang her a lullaby,
to make her sleep like a newborn baby,
a vase sat nearby on the floor,
filled with fresh cut roses,
and fragrant white lillies,
which the morning angel left for her,
a wonderful way to start anew,
soon she woke, daybreak had just set in,
I watched,
she was after-all the spitting image of my very youth,
the one on the infinity cloud of yesteryear,
she was making, a quilt,
to keep warm through the fridged chill of the long winter ahead,
cut squares of every kind of fabric,
lay on the floor,
never knowing every thread she stitched held a story,
and each block in years to come, would bring her back to these days,
the rugged trail of life, she knows now,
those very squares would soon make her glide,
as if she was on soft falling flakes of snow,
that would soon dusk the outside,
as if it were sent straight from heaven,
I saw her, and tasted every moment of it,
her heart-aches, her worries,
her struggles,
I know her well,
and I cradled her as I watched,
I knew, she would soon become a fresh bloomed rose-bud,
upon which my very soul will anchor,
do you know she graduated with honors,
and received her high school diploma on her own,
having not one picture to show,
to her future children,
she recieved awards you have yet to see,
and her name appears in the book,
Who' who among America's High School Students,
she found a full-time job, and she supported herself,
she's caring for the elderly,
and they felt her love,
the wise ones, who shared their story,
their wisdom, their time, they knew her to,
the one once who lived on the streets,
and slept behind vacant buildings,
I can feel her today, her face, her courage,
I can actually see a new rose-bud in blossom,
those stumbling blocks, of youth,
that crested the moonlight,
where those solitude heartaches,
of her youth should of been,
she will overcome,
I saw her again today,
I know she will survive,
after-all she's the one, in the infinity cloud,
a living reflection of my yesteryear,
she's full of life again,
though it broke my heart,
this time it was a joyful heartbreak,
where the birds sing,
the sun shines,
the snow falls,
where the willow once shaded her every pain,
and the meadow, now holds parts of the past years tears,
she looks splendid, young, free, and lively,
and she is filled with love, hope and belonging,
I saw her today, young and beautiful!
