Why do you always see the half empty cup?
With a positive outlook, you would be glad.

With happiness, think of the fun to be had,
You act like you’ve just been through a bank stick-up.
Oh poet so famous, why are you so sad?

Listening to sadness and loss I will not stand.
Red fish, blue fish, please lighten sad poets up.
With a positive outlook, you would be glad.

Go to a circus, look at clowns wearing plaid.
This depressed façade would be best to drop.
Oh poet so famous, why are you so sad?

Really, being cheerful is not all that bad,
Why don’t you try eating pancakes with syrup?
With a positive outlook, you would be glad.

Don’t think gloomy thoughts and turn to your scratchpad,
Instead, eat some fries with catsup or ketchup.
Oh poet so famous, why are you so sad?
With a positive outlook, you would be glad.

Oh Palmeryan poets are sometimes sad,
But sometimes its best to show emotion inside,
If not for the feeling the quill would be dry,
The pen is mightier than the sword say I,

Very good poem , and very true. But if all poetry was happy, it would not be like life itself. Thanks for sharing. Sue x
