The others, an outcast? Loud incoherent
Noise fills the atmosphere, causes discomfort
To my ears, amass the hundreds of sweaty bodies
There is little light.

What in gods name are these people
Doing? I'm among them but I don't feel
Like one of them. These people seem to be
Experiencing joy, wish I could find this just as
joyful.

I'm in some bizarre kind of pit, these aren’t
People these are animals. All around I see
Intoxicated gestures, beckons and quests of
Fornication. I try to make sense of this disturbingly
Primal sight of human behaviour I see before me.

I wish I could understand why people find
This place so joyous so I could join in
The fun. What's so good about this place?
Was I away for the punch line? Why does
Everyone but me seem to be in on it?
Why can't I understand?
What it's all about?

I just don't get night clubs…

Do you?

From night clubs come too many "one night stands" o' meaninglessness. Joy is superficial and shallow in such places and situations and it takes the dawn of a truly joyful deep interaction to see the light. This was a very, very good write!
