Array ( [sid] => 126034 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Best friends [time] => 2006-09-21 08:17:10 [hometext] => Writing this poem up was one of the hardest thing i have done in a while even though it happened 1 year ago it still hurts like the day the nightmare happened [bodytext] => A boy and girl eachothers best friend
A bond so close nothing could make it end
The boy 3 years older helped the girl along the way
But the girl helped him to make it through each day
Their life was hard but together they stayed strong
But through the next few years everything went wrong
He turned to drugs and drinking to help him survive
She tried to stop him but he would still drink and drive
He would come over and always cause fights
While the girl would be crying countless nights
Her mom would yell and her dad was a drunk too
Everyday got worse as the boys addiction grew
Ever since the girl was 6 every night she would cry
Druggies and drunks hurting her so bad she wanted to die
But her best friend was always there by her side
When things got to bad he would take her and hide
Soon the boy found new friends that were always around
The girl knew them and tried to warn against those he found
But he told her to shut up and go away
She locked herself in her room and cried all day
That night her uncle came over drunk and mad
No one was home except the girl and her dad
Her dad was asleep up stairs and the girl was on her own
Her uncle did the unthinkable then left her all alone
She sat and cried under the comfort of her favorite tree
She poured out her tears in the rain letting out her misery
Hours seem to pass when her brother came home drunk and high
He seen her under the tree so weak and broken and began to cry
He ran to her and hugged her close as she held him tight
Pouring out all of the events that happened that night
The next few months seemed to go her way
But her whole life shattered in one long day
The boy and girl went out on an afternoon drive
Along the way a car hit them leaving only the girl alive
The girl now sits upon the grave of her very best friend
In her heart there lies a wound that will never mend
The boys that killed her friend that night,
Where the ones she warned against, i guess she was right
Why god the girl prayed why did you take him from me
He was the only one that could ever understand and see
He was the reason I put up with life for so long
Whats the point in putting up with life now that he is gone
Now everyday you can hear the weeping of a girl that lost her best friend
As she sits on the grave alone waiting till the day she can see him again [comments] => 1 [counter] => 318 [topic] => 39 [informant] => nothingness [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 39 [ratings] => 11 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

Wow, very well written....that's a terrible, terrible story and I feel nothing but the deepest sympathy for you. But don't give up.
