in the wisp of wind captured hair
in the flick of a long white skirt
in a lazy, almost bored glance
- the subtle and accidental grace
Female; the coincidental artwork
aware of her power
without understanding it
like a boy with a gun
- he can use it
without understanding the mechanics

And I continue to watch her,
in a thousand faces,
become more and more unreal
- a figment of perfection -
too fragile for one form
and too angry from past lives
to let go
and just dance that graceful dance
instead, it comes by accidentally
- not too subtle to be noticed
not too powerful to stand
as pure art
just there
coincidental, with a thousand faces
while I watch
refusing to talk
fearing that I’d break
such a fragile image.

I've submitted this poem to change the tone somewhat. I've had the feeling that people are taking my work thus far as a little melancholy. Believe me, it isn't intended to be that way - and even if it is, I am not in need of a "there there". I'm an optimist as well as a realist. I believe I write my poems on how I feel or how I see a moment - as truthfully as I can -, but I am always feel sure that it's going to get better.

This is beautiful! So serene. I will read your work nomatter the mood in which you write it. The best things come from each emotion felt not only by the writer but the reader as well.

nicely done

Michelle

An excellent write. It perfectly echos the subtle beauty and grace of the 'fragile image' you're writing about.

As for the mood thing, I'm with you. If the subject is a weighty one and the words lead down that melancholy road, then that's where I go. Personally, I think that to be able to effectivly write then you need to be able to drop into whichever mood is best for the piece at the drop of a hat.

A good job very well done
:D
