Follow the path
of the crescent
moon
unto the land
of those who wait

qp
Heed the Sign
of the eye
and
the wings of
giant river owls

()
Take the Shape
of the ancient
soul
wrap your bones
in the mist of fate

X
Turn the Lock
speak the
words
free them
from the MirrorGate

Outward walked the Skeletal Lords
with wings
of Owls upon their Backs
And from their chests
stared an eye ; a single eye
of polished black

Lust to kill and land to Roam
Vengeance now upon the Throne
Lust to kill and land to Roam
The Children of the Bones

OOOoooo .........doug, this was unimaginably eerie!

Captivating with a capital "C"!!

It was like reading the prologue to a mysterious fantasy
thriller .. I was enthralled and want more! lol

Excellent post!

I like it, it sounds like a quest in a story. The first line reminds me of the 3rd Indian Jones.

..a fairy tale dream of the macabre-
spectacular line-breaks and what a brilliant, quick 3rd verse-
powerful finale as well..
extremely well written~
