that pain is transcended.
I am not hurt by the knives in your eyes,
and the fork of your tongue,
because I'm mildly numb and full of wonder,
at how so frail and light a person like you,
full of fairy charm,
could possibly spear such a person as me,
who thought they were so strong and in control.
It's too much a rush at once to take hold of;
I can't register what it is you're saying,
which is just as well,
because the words are dipped in acid,
and coated in nails,
then, for a special treat, blown into my head,
with a rocket launcher...

I can imagine, vaguely, bits of my splintered skull
exploading, needling into the translucent flesh,
on your bony little arms.
I think of my splattering brain as being a similar
color to the tired circles beneath your eyes.
You are so fragile,
but you break me.
Luckily enough I'm still too withdrawn
to feel myself shatter.
Each kiss severs a limb;
with those thalamus shooting lips,
my bloodstream drugged with the after effects
of your smile.
And each mental blow is like
knocking on a hollow vessel-
I'm not home today.

As you gently pick your way
through my most excrutiating memories,
I know dimly, somewhere in the back of my mind,
that once I come to and realization smacks me round the face,
this famous agony will be too much to endure.
I will be swallowed by the sensation of daggers,
and the combustion of all these years of working
at being someone not like you.
I will be imminent.
So for now I'll float on your severing kisses
and brain tinged skin.
My unrecognizing sensors riding,
gratefully,
over your words.

You are certainly a "Dark Soul" Rhiannon. You amaze me with your words, and leave me wanting more.

Well done,

OMFG Rhiannon, This one blew me the hell away. Perfectly penned piece. I love how you write. I'm quickly becoming a fan of YOURS.
Peace my dark friend,
Laura
