I see you parade around all dressed up
Filling everything messed up with
Credit card bills, heart-shaped-pills & one hour thrills

And I see you slip away, slip away
And I feel so lonely, lonely these days
Awake and seize the day
you’re slipping away

And like robots you glide along this ancient song
That sings directions and provide affections
And all dressed up you fill everything messed up with
Credit card bills, heart-shaped-pills & one hour thrills

And on repeat I see you
Head for a long painful defeat
So awake and seize some faith
‘Cause you’re slipping away
Awake, ‘cause it’s not too late

And I wish you would dare to stare within
To seek truth
To feel pain
And then embrace the love that remains,
To blossom all around
To be resound
And then grab hold of time

‘Cause I see you slip away, slip away
And I feel so lonely, lonely these days
Awake and seize the day
you’re slipping away

No more empty spaces, no more endless mazes, no more numb faces
Only sweet dreams and beautiful places, beautiful faces
‘Cause outside these phrases you’re parading around all dressed up
Filling everything messed up with
Credit card bills, heart-shaped-pills & one hour thrills

And on repeat I see you
Head for a long painful defeat
All furled up in the unclarity
Of a reality that never ceases
Awake, ‘cause it’s not too late…

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
