All day, my thoughts were about the draft and war. This poem came to me after I told my man that I don't want innocents' blood on my hands. [bodytext] => Rubies dripping from soft hands,
like tear drops falling to the sands,
of innocents of tribes or bands,
residing in some strange new lands.

Running down the fleshy arms,
like a bracelet full of charms.
from the people each one harms.
the killer, each ruby alarms.

When the sunken eyes do close,
many horrors dreams disclose,
these dreams the dreamer can’t dispose,
‘til rubies drip from dreamer’s nose.

Orders have the soldiers followed,
many lives the war has swallowed,
cheeks of all will become sallow,

Rubies dripping from soft hands,

I am not against any nation, I am generally againt war and its violence.. poor girl, I feel very sad after reading this poem.. venkat

Beautifully describes again, the soldier's dilemma. The blood of the slain is brilliantly illustrated here-like a natural resource-of precious stones, hinting at a possibility of what the war is actually about...greed.

Please check my poems and vote/comment on them. I really need to know-am I going down the drain or am I still going well?

Some advice.
If you should be dragooned into the army please remember. fight bravely and valiantly, but try not to cause any civilian casualties...and if you should emerge victorious do not gloat over your opponents but be relieved that a source of evil has been extirpated-hopefully for good. Each soldier who enters war must be brepared to be killed, but not to kill without cause.
