from the first day i saw her and
still to this day she will always
brighten up my day.
she will keep you on your toes
and she never seems to slow down
but you never ever see her with a frown.
some times its hard to have a child
like this but when you look in those eyes
and see all the love that one child can give
it is worth it all with a child like this.

Good poem. I don't have kids, but I can imagine the bonds created from the parental perspective.

beautiful poem...lovely...i don't know what is the reason the doctors say that to you; but my daughter is deslexic and the doctors told us she would never read{at age two}, be able to do math or be like the other kids; they said she is a genius trapped in a mind that will never see things like other people...they wanted continued therapy, we said to hell with all of them and guess what? today she is fine, she is bright and far ahead of the kids in her class in reading, {still hates math but is doing geometry} she is really quite as normal as anyone else in our family could ever hope to be lol, she is also a writer and a very good one, believe in her and she will continue to amaze you and pooh on the doctors, love and huggs always nessa

I liked this poem. A child with down syndrom can keep you on your toes all day long. I seen a lady in Walmart with her child the other day that had down syndrom and I admired her for how calm she was while the child screamed and bumped into things with her wheelchair. She never once acted imbarrased or ashamed for the way the child acted and I applaud her for that. No one should ever feel ashamed for their child no matter the surcomstance ( Did I spell tha right??? ooppss!) Anglea
