The 'you' in the poem is Jayden - my & Jay's best friend

On December 28th
We lost a lover, a friend
Six months later
We still grieve
You hold me in your arms
In the middle of nowhere
The edge of the world
You're thinking of him
I can see it
In the way you stareat the stars
I can feel it
When you pull me closer
And your arms shake
I can taste it
When I kiss your cheek
Salty streaks dampening my lips
Mixing with my own tears
Your hand slides off my shoulder
And searches your back pocket
Until you retrieve a photo
With deep creases and worn edges
A ripped off corner and faded colours
IT was taken a month before the suicide
He is there
With his lips against my cheek
The corners of his mouth turned upward
While I laugh
Pointing at the camera
Alerting him of the picture
And you lean over me
With a grin to rival the Cheshire Cat
Your arm extended
The camera in your hand
Next you pull out a lighter
Which you pass to me
You hold the picture to the sky
And I light the edge
We watch the flame
Creep along the paper
Engulfing the three of us
Turning us to ash
Which the summer breeze carries away
Bringing us closer to heaven
Closer to Jay
So he knows he's always with us [comments] => 2 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 44 [informant] => SweetHeartDealer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )
