'living' in). *** [bodytext] =>

We’ve languished in the wretchedness
Of a self imposed disease
A sickness born of good intent, this
Odd desire to only please
We’ve held our tongues and hid ourselves
We’ve burrowed deep within
And there in shadows, for our neglect,
Our dreams came near to end

We lingered in the corner, crouched
Then on our hands and knees
Blind and mute and resolute
Too foolish to even believe
We’d collect the fallen feathers of
Our pathetic, broken wings
While inside a scream beat on the walls
Still we'd refuse to say a thing

We lamented only in silence so that
None could ever really hear
Carving wishes on the invisible walls
Once built to contain our fear
But there were echoes of an unused voice
One that resided, still, within
And it repeated, as echoes will do,
“Dreamers’ dreams aren’t meant to end”

We laughed, somehow, still without
Making even the smallest sound
Time and again, we’d try to make a stand
Only to continually fall down
But the unending repetition of that echo
Would eventually fill the space
And we, then entirely without peace,
Would find it more than we could take

Dreamers’ dreams aren’t meant to end
Dreamers’ dreams aren’t meant to end
Dreamers’ dreams…
Dreamers’ dreams…
Dreamers….

Dreamers,
We

(Out of the dark
And into the light
Set to dream again
Tonight)

Can you see inside my mind. You have put my life of the past into words. I thought it was hidden away, but you have explained it so well. An absolutely fabulous and well thought up poem. Thank you for sharing it. Sue xx

First, I want to say I ADORE the song. lol

*composes self*
..ahem! ..

Snem, I know not what to say. Your writes are always an intriguing, ever thought enducing and completely
heart stirring experience! This, to me, was no exception. To know that dreamer's dreams are never meant
to end is something only a poet could embrace. [Its akin to embracing a sort of loneliness, I think]. But the
hope that lies ever eternal, [vastly expressed within this particular write] will always resurface. And we smile.

And dream on . . .

Stunning write!!

~Breezy
[who is both tormented and beguiled by dreams ... the best way to be! : )]

No,dreamers' dreams are not meant to end.Through the frustration and the disappointment, they dream on.Deeply melancholy feel to this poem.Tremendous work as always,

Amazing write, Snemmy; (which is what I always expect when reading your work.) Now I can't get the song (or your poem) out of my head.
