They call me - heaven on earth,
gorgeous by birth – my fine carves
of mountain blue, cascading graceful
water that chuckles - send ripples of rapture.

Nesting little bird’s heavenly choir,
her wards innocent impish game so sheer,
playing children over my bosom valley;
but who blemished me into a tomb gully

Like a nightmare came the partition; spat
stains of blood on my tender wedding wear
of tranquility, turning its auspicious red into
bloody red, and slicing me in two for your wily desire.

Once so prosperous vim and vigor turned into
a purposeless garden of tombs of my children lay
deceased, booming times turned shattered and scattered
to billion pieces by bombing sons of my own womb.

My long anguish and pain shall depart to reinstate my lost
beauty and glory for I love and trust my children of my own womb.

Dear friends I would like to tell you all that here in this poem I have tried to put forth my personal feeling of experience for the north Indian state called Kashmir.
FRANCO.
