Born into the oceans sway.
Ferocious winds clear the bay;
Without a bird upon the eye
And the sky in gloom of a night gone by.

It seems that in this bleakest hour,
While perched within my lonely tower,
For a solemn heart the gray clouds scour;
Though all were sent to flee…
And forevermore it shall be.

Roaring seas that so confide
Of rippling secrets stashed inside,
A chance of love once washed aside,
One for which my heart contends;
With hopes this sea of anguish ends.

A brighter day shall soon emerge.
The gloom this day is sure to purge.
This brighter day is on the verge
Of a solid, unworn pursuit;
One of which I so salute. [comments] => 11 [counter] => 376 [topic] => 73 [informant] => wizard [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

Holy WOW! I am blown away with this. Truly. What masterful conception and
creative use of imagery. I am reminded of Poe upon reading this, (and not
to take away the audacity and brilliance of this piece). It could just be the
fact that I have come into possession of a most amazing and treasured book
of Poe, that I am reminded.

BUT, having said all that, I am completely impressed. The metaphors alone
are enough to provoke admiration. Your work is so diverse.

Yes, a very moving piece. Forgive me if this sounds patronizing or haughty, but I feel your
work evolves with each write. Just when I think I've seen your best, or can no longer be
impressed . . . you post something magnificent like this. Bravo!

there's so much I wanna say..know and can relate to-

Pleasentries first..

great composition bro.. (one of your newest and most shining attributes)
..also, you've recently narrowed things down a bit.. ie: word usage, idealism, ect. ...overall simplicity.
..like french food or fine wine-
simple and finer with age.
..some of the best work I've read in a long while.

Secondly..
I know every word of this..most intimately.. last verse in particular.

Those who know you well, would say that this might be the best by you yet.. really-

Sincerely..

B

The title of this drew me in, and I was actually kinda suprised at the poem underneath it.

I love the third stanza, it's definitely my favourite of the whole poem, with some really pretty imagery (loves the sea) but a sort of melancholy, yet hopeful, feeling to it.

It brought out a lot of emotions in me, and any write that does that is good in my eyes.

Great write,
Phyllis xxx
