Om is the eternal sound which is the Absolute It has neither gender nor number and, in its womb Exist the fourteen worlds, all seen and unseen. O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth! Being united with the power, the Lord is powerful In the absence of power, the Lord is powerless Thus spoke the renowned saint SankaraCharya. O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth! By worshiping Kali and learning the art of poetry Kalidasa became the greatest poet of the world And none so far excelled him in the art of writing O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!
