Prism of Faith
Sandra S. Corona

Faithful in my journey to prove life never fades,
Cosmos is my ship with crude crewmates upchucked from Hades.
Find you! Your twinkling flashes are too fast, but a blur …
can't embrace light. If you're my sister, let me touch her.
I reach for her face, a prism of faith, grace, in awe.
Close my eyes, see her alive …we embrace. I amazed,
step apart, hear her heart. She's just the same. I am dazed.

"Have I died and gone to Heaven?" I ask tenderly.
"I've come to warn you that this dream is a mutiny.
If you stay on this trip, you'll not wake. Surely, you'll die.
You need to return to the land of living, no lie."
Her warm breath on my cheek makes me want to stay. "No way!"
"Sis, you always insist on having things go your way."
"If you've a prism of faith, go on and live today!"

Whatever she was, she found a way I could return.
When I woke alone, tear-drenched, ached with this dreadful yearn.
"The devil's out to get you and he'll give you a ride,
entrance you any way to steal your soul. He's no pride."
I could hear her lecturing me somewhere deep inside.
"The prism of faith means in God alone you'll abide.
Go cry those tears that you have hidden within." They slide.

A dream has renewed my prism of faith; been reviewed.
Anyone messing with my soul, Sissy says, "You're screwed!"
