Oh Lord please thank this gentle man
Who sends me hugs each day
I know he thinks quiet highly
Of what I write and say
He helps to lift my spirits
Whenever I’m feeling down
He always wants me smiling
And hates to see me frown

The friendship that we have
Has blossomed more each day
He’s not like any other man
That’s ever come my way
His heart is full of kindness
Of that there is no doubt
His smiles are full of trust
And his lips they do not pout

If he was here beside me
He’d reach out and hold my hand
To help me and to guide me
Until we reached the promise land
His life is far away from me
And still we are yet to meet
But the kindness he has given me
Is loyal and truly sweet

So take care to watch over him
And keep him safe from harm
Let him have a happy life
Of love and peace and calm

Yes, Eddy is one of the few men (people) I know who truly deserve these beautiful words. He is a friend to everyone despite the sadness in his own life. He tries to bolster everyone to make them happy. He has sent many words and hugs of friendship to me and they have always been greatly and lovingly received. Thank you, Lynn, for a tribute to a great man, poet, and friend.

Love,
Rita
