Array ( [sid] => 117819 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Songs of yore [time] => 2006-04-06 10:42:24 [hometext] => Spring always seems to encourage me. I love the warm weather and the birds returning from far away places. Coming through dark times for me is a lot like making it to spring and that is what this poem is about [bodytext] => In dark times bleak
let me hear you sing
the whisperings sweet
and wisps of spring

When the cold winds blow
freezing o''re your heart
let love melt the snow
and sad times depart

When we walk through perilous times of war
And death turns your heart ''pathetic to the core
help me remember your healing
clouds are dark but sun''s revealing
refreshing times are soon in store
writing poems of love and singing songs of yore

Life has its hard times
we try to ignore
hurt''s between the lines
hidden in heart''s core

But there comes a time
when you have to cry
let the pain subside
in the bright blue sky

The past it hurts
The past it scars
tearing pieces from your heart

but we forget
that memories
also hide times of glee

when we remember times of healing
and we see the sun's revealing
dead trees coming alive in spring
and birds in branches starting to sing
the waves gently roll into shore
proclaiming times of love and songs of yore

Proclaiming times of love
And songs of yore

Spoke to me and I hold on fast to what it said...I once read a jap. comic hmm Fruits Basket I think...anyway one thing that just stayed with me to this day was..."No matter how cold the snow may be it will always melt" or something like that.....What I love to include in my poems is that memories never die. LOVED IT! your poem I mean hehe

I really like this piece, which seems to mix song and poem. The message is woven into a wonderful varied structure and design, which is creative and unique. The wording and imagery are wonderful.

Masterfully done, Archie

Will
