That we have yet to share
I have so many dreams
That I want to realize
With you

And yet
I am about to leave

I must embark upon a journey
Into the darkness
And there is not much time
To say all the things
That seem to pour
From my soul like a river

I am robbed of the chance
To leave you with
The memories which most couples cherish
But that we have yet to create

So I will ask of you
This

When you are tired
Remember that when I return
I will hold you in my arms
And guard you while you rest

When you are sad
Remember that when I return
I will gently caress you face,
And kiss away your tears.

When you are angry
Remember that when I return
I will listen and be your voice of reason
And guide you to a calm place

When you are happy
Remember that when I return
We will laugh and share
Even more joyful moments together

When you wish that you could
Just get away
Remember that when I return
I will sweep you away
To some exotic place
Where we will rekindle
The fire in our hearts and minds
Over and over again

When you feel the need to pray
Remember that when I return
I will fall on my knees with you
And we will thank God
for bringing us back together again

When you are scared
Remember that when I return
I will comfort your heart
And erase those fears

And when you are lonely
Remember that when I return
I will be coming back
To spend my eternity with you.

I believe everybody has that special someone just waiting to be found. I've found mine and it's great to know you've found yours.

Mine lives an ocean apart (literaly!) and I can't wait to be in her arms again.

This is a beautiful tribute truely poetic.

J.

Very moving; I can empathise with this.
