[hometext] => Freedom through a youthfull South African eye....
[bodytext] => Our heritage, our gift from our forefathers- showered onto us like water from the heavens. Raindrops of narration, hailstones of fury, we fill our buckets – willingly? “ You can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know your past “ Words from our elders, they last in our minds, yet in sharp contrast with what we find. What is heritage? Does it have a place in our day & age? We engage in pointless bickering and squabbling to defend our peoples past, but what have the people from our past ever done for us? Sure they’ve burnt a few tyres and threw some petrol bombs and some even died for the cause- but does death in an apartheid brawl equate to a hero for us all? Was it we, were we their motivation, or were they just attempting to escape their situation. Selfish war of liberation fought to defy their oppression. Whatever their intent might have been, today, the fruits of their labour can be seen. And even though sometimes its hard to see the relevance, its truly evident that because of them, we don’t have to burn a few tyres or even throw some petrol bombs.
