Will the dream come true?

Let us see the peace around the world
In parting from the world of war and dread
This much lets me avow and deem
That my thoughts could only be a dream

Now these thoughts have flown away
From my mind in a night or in a day
Has it been only in my vision or in none
Or has it therefore the less gone?

Here when I stand amid the roar
Where I see a surf-tormented shore
And I could hold within my hand
Grains that produce the golden sand

They are very few! Yet they creep
Through my fingers and in to the deep
Oh God! Tell me how can I grasp
These sands with a tighter clasp?

O God! Will I not be able to save
One of them from the pitiless wave?
Is that all that I see or seem?
From my dream within the dream
