Array ( [sid] => 115791 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Couples [time] => 2006-03-03 21:16:12 [hometext] => This poem features the story of couples, lost in the mist of their desires and lust. [bodytext] => Adam and Eve lie sleeping
In a milky blue water-color haze
With the winged angels of a formless God
And a half eaten, crescent moon floating above

But this ill fated pair failed to know
The inky darkness of mankind,
Growing, towering and resonating,
Would fall like a giant in the face of love

Where, as monsters inhabit our closets
And deceptive statements fill our words,
We fumble for purity and wholeness,
As Eve fumbled; feigned regret so hurriedly

But the desires of mankind proceed
A generation of couples still skating
On the thin, cracking ice of morality
Yet, melody tugs with gravitational pull

So, couples, as explorers from long ago
Set the lengthy fabric sails; ready them
As a dancer alternates partners of song
And explorers navigate vast continents of lust

Behind wooden planks and glassy panes,
Of homes far gone with parental dismay,
Children play together in oblivion, as above
Miniature falmes burn up the darkened dome

Questions fill our intelligences like liquid truth
As the subconscious becomes quite conscious
Of the dimly lit den; mildew swimming in air
Still, here, frozen like mannequins, we stand

With revelations spilling forth like steamy lava
From volcanic intensity of Earth's greatest shifts
Words are spoken; lyrical, witty excuses unhinge us
Here, in rolling valley, past ice water lakes, we are:

AMAZING! The imagery is powerful, as is the message. We do skate on thin ice when we give in to lust... purity must be what the pure of heart strive for because God's holiness demands it. Excellent!
