[bodytext] => Adam and Eve lie sleeping In a milky blue water-color haze With the winged angels of a formless God And a half eaten, crescent moon floating above But this ill fated pair failed to know The inky darkness of mankind, Growing, towering and resonating, Would fall like a giant in the face of love Where, as monsters inhabit our closets And deceptive statements fill our words, We fumble for purity and wholeness, As Eve fumbled; feigned regret so hurriedly But the desires of mankind proceed A generation of couples still skating On the thin, cracking ice of morality Yet, melody tugs with gravitational pull So, couples, as explorers from long ago Set the lengthy fabric sails; ready them As a dancer alternates partners of song And explorers navigate vast continents of lust Behind wooden planks and glassy panes, Of homes far gone with parental dismay, Children play together in oblivion, as above Miniature falmes burn up the darkened dome Questions fill our intelligences like liquid truth As the subconscious becomes quite conscious Of the dimly lit den; mildew swimming in air Still, here, frozen like mannequins, we stand With revelations spilling forth like steamy lava From volcanic intensity of Earth's greatest shifts Words are spoken; lyrical, witty excuses unhinge us Here, in rolling valley, past ice water lakes, we are: Couples [comments] => 1 [counter] => 195 [topic] => 21 [informant] => WonderlandPoet [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
