I sit numb next to your lingering scent,
left only with an album of mental snapshots
I can only share with myself.

You knew I loved you when we met.

When I could not speak to you
it was because my silent heart
could not understand the passion
blossoming from your lips.

You knew I loved you when we made love.

Your unforgotten brown eyes
send out tears to my blues.
They are the windows to your soul.
I cry because I can no longer see.

You knew I loved you when we parted.

I compare love to you,
as I always have.
Your brown eyes brought me
the peace I was missing.
The red of your lips
allowed my self to be free.
The softness of your skin
reached me like no other sensation.

I need to say I love you now
when I compare love to you. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 185 [topic] => 22 [informant] => eggflipper [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

nothing I say would do this justice. Splendid in each moment throughout.

Wow, I usually don't react to love poetry, sad or happy or of any kind for that matter but this made me make the aw(sad) face. This is truly good.
