Array ( [sid] => 114896 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => One Day [time] => 2006-02-16 01:43:03 [hometext] => This poem is my refelction on a situation i was put into by a friend, where he told me that even though things are bad... it will all be ok. It frustrated me beyond belief! [bodytext] => How dare you sit beside me
face tainted in the spotlight
and tell me you know me well?
I don't even know me well.

How dare you sit beside me
hair blowing in the breeze
and tell me it will be okay?
You cannot determine my fate.

One glorious day you will see.
You will see it all flash before you
in a blinding display of brilliance.
And you will know then,
(for this I know)
that you do not know me at all.

In the darkest of hours we are friends,
but civil conversation remains distorted.
With tears in my eyes
(and staining my cheeks)
I feel more alive than you will ever know.
...So please don't halt the surge.

Breaking me with your wisdom is your only play.
(And none would say it's fair.)
You know how it will break me.
And despite all reasoning,
This is the only harmony you can maintain. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 219 [topic] => 6 [informant] => UrbanFlower [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )
