When I was a small young girl
My hair would catch the breeze
And my skirt would round me twirl

The wind you cannot hold
It only passes through
The wind is something free
To itself it must be true

Time began to pass
I still would catch the wind
My hair it would caress
I'm the breeze that it would send

A woman, now I'm grown
A man I met one day
Wild and free and brave
Like the wind I heard them say

Ours eyes and hearts did meet
I found myself in love
He wispered something sweet
I became a winged dove

My hair he did caress
On wings of joy I've flown
In ecstacy I've twirled
The wild wind I have known

The wind I now have held
To truth he does belong
For I have caught the wind
And I have proved them wrong
