As Eagles Soar

She had always dreamed
Of soaring high
Like the eagle
Reaching for the sky
To the mountains
She had fled
Freedom among nature
No more crying joy instead
Climbing the cliffs
Ever higher she went
Stopping finally
Her energy spent
Across a divide
He stood on a ledge
Dressed in buckskin
He jumped off the edge
Arms out to his side
Falling, spinning but no fear
As she watched
He seemed to disappear
Before her eyes
He transformed
Into an Eagle
A magnificent reform
The eagle soared
High above her head
Then came down near her
She was frozen never fled
Spreading his wings
He once more changed
Into this man although young
With much wisdom aged
He offered her his hand
Said she also could be free
She took his hand and soared
This is where she wanted to be
So over the earth
You can see their shadows fall
And know she is
Finally happy once and for all
