Array ( [sid] => 113079 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Power of a Song [time] => 2006-01-12 22:36:30 [hometext] => havent wrote in so long just started off as jumbled words, has a lot 2 do wit religion and songs (listen 2 enya) lol enjoy! [bodytext] => Sometimes you only get what you need,
The energy flows to persevere,
What you deserve is what you perceive,
On the face of this jaded sphere.

Reality is what you make of it,
What your mind's eye can see,
Look beyond, the candles are lit,
To show you past reality.

Is it so easy to walk away?
Leave others out in the cold,
Not speaking up to proudly say,
The wisdom of the old.

The innocence of children is beautiful,
But is stolen away with time,
Live for something meaningful,
Or life is not sublime.

Life is an endless circular race,
And ignorance is bliss,
But it festers beneath the surface,
Reawakening with a venomous kiss.

The dreams that don’t make sense,
The coded hidden meanings,
Pause and discover, hence,
Uncover the shrouded feelings.

Don’t understand the words coming out,
Don’t know why I even try,
Don’t understand what it’s all about,
It may be just a tangle of lies.

But expression is the filter for the soul,
Out with the old and in with the new,
To keep it intact and to keep it whole,
Or to keep inspiration true.

Contradiction at it’s finest,
The stories of the past,
Take a look at what’s behind us,
They knew it would never last.

Don’t know what to expect,
Not to sure where were going,
Are there no morals that we reject?
We harm without even knowing.

Sometimes I hear the angels voices,
And they’re human, not of a higher power,
It’s as if I’m running out of choices,
But then find some at a later hour.

And I feel the presence all around me,
I can hear it in their words,
A spiritual connection I can’t see,
But one that I have heard.

I don’t know if it’s considered wrong,
Across the ground that I have trod,
When Im listening to these songs,
I am listening to God.
