Array ( [sid] => 111787 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Step Dad [time] => 2005-12-19 20:35:29 [hometext] => a poem for the only father figure i've ever known comments welcome [bodytext] => he's a hard workin' man with dirt on his jeans and blood on his hands
a good hearted here, the best kind aroud
whenever you need him he can easily be found

i ca not recall him hanging out in bars
but i can still see him workin' on them old cars
and working extra hard to make a decent livin'
he's never lost focus but always stayed driven

he fought for my freedom in a forgotten war
and he's given me some things i'm very thankful for
when we were so close to living on the street
he came along and swept us off our feet
he bought me a car and taught me to drive
and i'm thankful for every day that he is alive

he gave me a glimpse of what a father was like
and he never thought twice about fixing my bike
if he ever needed me i'd be there on the double
and i'd lay down my life if he were ever in trouble
he's the closest thing to a father that i've ever had
and i'm so very thankful that he's my step dad [comments] => 1 [counter] => 458 [topic] => 55 [informant] => jessejames [notes] => Edited for Spelling as Requested by Moderator_15 [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )
