I thought it was some dark mirror it was just a picture frame to be filled with the people who never called me daughter
every night this whisper spears my heart every darkened day a small click of a step across tiled floor brings me face to face with what Ive learned to hate- a lie, filling a gilded frame to the brim
could it be that I have been so alone all along? a woman I believed in more than blue just being blue more than fact alone
an accident?
accidents are small things- cuts and scrapes, bruises or locking the keys in the car not a whole child not a whole sixteen years
I prayed for the picture but I came to the mirror can you see it like some dark sin settled deep beneath my skin?
I am no one, I belong to no one no one looks at me and with a smile says mine and though I am told I am not the one to blame I can not bring myself to point the finger at the woman I love and the father I would love if he would let me
