~~~~~
You went away without much warning
I arrived minutes after you were gone
I rushed to the hospital
In the early morning dawn
A cold day in October
We laid you in the ground
Tears flowed so freely
From everyone around
Now those minutes turned to days
And those days turned into years
When I think back on that moment
My eyes are full of tears
This pain I keep hidden
Deep inside my mind
Has never went away
With the passing of time
I still feel the loss
As I did on that day
And I choke on my words
When I try to convey
So I write down my inner thoughts
It’s my way of trying to deal
With this overwhelming grief
That daily I still feel
Well Jeff, they know you still have that special place in the heart for them. I know how ya feel, when it comes to losing. Beautiful post here. Sent out the message of losing, but loving.
Beautiful memory and feelings displayed in this poem. When my father passed away, I had no fond memories until I found out that right before he died he accepted the Lord--now I can't wait to see him again in Heaven!
Yes, I hear you very loud. At any moment God will come to bring us home. He knows how much we love our family and friends, and we must trust they are kept safely within His arms. I each day have to try to keep trusting myself, and it is difficult at times to let go of those that are in His arms. Peace to you my friend... Grief may hang on, and perhaps we will always hurt, we do have precious memories that live on. We are brought closer to God when death or any type of struggle comes about..Raquel Leah :D
