Array ( [sid] => 10860 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Transformed [time] => 2003-01-21 08:20:00 [hometext] => Re-post. An old poem, 2000/2001. [bodytext] => She was once so high-spirited, so free
so full of confidence, so tall
She walked as one with the breeze
with a magnetism that was felt by all
and ambition that reached the very sky
She was the life of the party
so many friends she had made
There was always someone by her side
She was never alone

Seven years have passed since
and now as I look into those eyes of hers
the fire is now distinguished
She walks with her head bowed down low
Her confidence has been shattered
She hides beneath the long fringe she grew
and now, she walks alone
Her friends are so very few
and although she is free again
her spirit has been broken
and her character has been torn

So, what happened to her?
When did this transformation occur?
She looks so tired, so forlorn
almost as though she gave up
on life and even on hope
and I have to ask myself
where did it all go?
Can the person deep inside
be found beneath this person that hides?
For now, I can only see
a person I barely recognise
as I look into this mirror of mine. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Debz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
