As we are
Not what we should be
Eternal attempts
To realize what is meant
To accommodate into the lives
The now separate
From the present
Split from the irreverent
Commit to the absence

The now,
Is the only thing that is real
The past is gone
And the future not yet
The now is experience
Reality
Awareness
And as the relation to life
Messages self-evident
Existential in pureness

Thinking is rehearsing
And they all turn into background noise
Clearly forming
Speculatively supporting
Rational ideologies on their toes
And should we suppose
Triumphing over the envied now
Will bring us what we are owed
What we are endowed

I like this... though, to be completely honest, I don't know if I'm being entirely objective here (I just dropped a "in the moment" piece myself and can relate to the need to put it on the page). I do like how you presented this, and if I'm interpretting correctly - I think you've done very well at capturing 'the now'. Very well, in fact. With a hope that this will make some sort of sense... I wish you the very best in the future and hope that the "envied now" never really becomes past tense.

Pondering this,
~Snemmy

I see you're at least attempting a positive ending again : )
I think I know what you're saying here...We have to focus on today, and not what may or may not come to be in the future...Maybe not so much don't think about the future. Just don't get caught up in pipedreams, and if you want something, start to take the necessary steps towards it...That's what it made me think of anyway. Good job, as always. You didn't capitalize your title though...tsk tsk ; )
