Along a pane of window glass
The pattern that the spider composed,
So blindly in its quest
Gave the window an illusion of its shattered ruined death.

The spider crawled and slothed it’s way slow as liquid glass
Along its destructive web
The window had sat solitary and alone
Viewing inward from an outward world
And here the spider fogs its view, with
Fractured line and impure thread.

As my hands reach to trace
The subtleties of the spider’s song, a prick I felt upon my fingertip
In glass which bled to the touch
The pinprick tickled and danced from the windows kiss
And the spider stopped solitary and proud
Of the imperfect threads

The tapestry of ruin that blinds the windows eye
Slowly became clear
As I watched the fragments fall from my hand
The window broken and the cracks agleam
With spiders thread, eternal and pure.
The spider had not worked to obscure but maybe,
Just maybe to
Mend.
