I am waiting for the right moment
It wont arrive
I am waiting for my chance to glow
It’s stuck behind a wall

I am watching, looking for it I am prepared
It's not exactly clear what awaits
I am always on guard ready to protect myself
It gets stuck behind the wall

I am screaming, fighting as they surge
It isn’t helping
I am powerless to stop rising, surging darkness
It engulfs me and the tears cant get past the wall

I'm looking at myself, studying my face
It is not worthy of an 'image'
I am a product of environments that prey on insecurities
There’s no wall to stop them

I am bound by my duties to the perfect world
I am taken over I have become a clone
A little voice inside says "It is my life"
The wall silences the infringing thoughts

I am ugly and unlovable without my mask
It is always underneath my 'skin'
The insecurities have claws which dig deeper in
The wall wont let them out

I am sore from the scratchesIt is all in the image
I've grown so much
I've been polished so much I’ve lost my shine
The wall grows

A little girl sits beside a wall
All of a sudden she releases her anger
She attacks the wall in frenzied fury
Until she falls down
She lies in the wasteland and sobs and sobs
She holds a key which has been long boarded up
She drowns in my tears.

Here's hoping the wall doesn't grow so high that it stops your future poems from getting out !!
Nice work

Steve

Nice write-
I too have walls that confine me-
I am obligated by duty and bound by obligation-
Barriers are difficult to break down...
