we scurry around possibilities
like we beat around the bush
afraid to test the waters
for the fear of being hooked
this life has got us running
too fast for our own good
but what's the sense in waiting
and committing to what we should
i yearn for the taste of freedom
my heart is now free of chains
to breathe in this sweet air
makes me think of sweet things again
i'm reminded of a time
when my heart didn't affect my mind
when doing the right thing
wasn't such a battle inside
i've benched myself for this period
i'm out of the game for a while
and when i can stop running
maybe i can breath for a while
