The hands that reach
To grab and cling
To never let go

Her eyes, they fade
The leeches do bite
And her skin screams
At the horrifying sensation

I can't hold back the swarm
They squirm through my fingers
Trying to get to her
To bite her, to kill

The pain, the hurt
She does not resist
She cannot
The monsters are winning

So I take my body
Press against her own
And wrap around her skin
Shielding with my body

The leeches pinch, bite, kill
Her skin and mine
But I'm her protector
And she is crying

I will latch on
So the leeches cannot
She cannot stand them
But she cannot prevent them

Misery does not come from love
But still, love can return from misery
In the moment that she needed me
I was there, forever [comments] => 2 [counter] => 145 [topic] => 48 [informant] => justkevi [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
