I only knew pain and shame and strife.
I didn’t know love and had no way
to make it through each lonely day.

As a teen I tried to end how I feel,
but I was taken in by a friend to heal.
It hurts that I can’t tell her today
how much she helped me on my way.

I learned to trust because of her,
a little bit, but I was sure
that maybe there was hope for me,
there was a spark that I could see.

I met a man who was good it seemed,
who asked for help to coach his team.
He somehow saw inside and then
he started acting like a friend.

He never judged me and because
he accepted me the way I was
I learned to trust yet once again,
and owe my future to those friends.

He was always there when things were bad,
I stayed with him whenever I had
a fight at home and had to flee,
he accepted me with his family.

Whenever I’m feeling bad I see
there’s always someone there for me.
It’s often one I do not know
who reaches out to help me so.

Especially my little evil friend
has helped me more then all of them.
She’s been honest, her words are true.
and she has helped me through and through.

Because these people cared to show
what love can do, I learned to grow.
I only wish that they could see
how much their love has meant to me.

I feel quite sure they know. Actions generally speak much louder than words and come through so much more clearly. There always seems to be just the right person in the right place at the right time when one is in dire straits. Miracle, hmmm, I wonder??

Well, i am sure those friends, know how much you care.and much you are worth. You think that one lil evil, friend, did more.........?! Hm.......Seems, the evil, is more than that. If a person , shows they are what they truly tell, then no one can turn that away. Thanks for sharing this lovely write.! You are a good friend........:)

In your own words

"Whenever I’m feeling bad I see
there’s always someone there for me.
It’s often one I do not know
who reaches out to help me so".

I think you are a lucky person, to have had all these people by you when it mattered most

Brava. This is a great piece. And I agree that these people probably know just how much you love and care about them. The best of friends usually do.

Be well,
Loende
