we are poets
who create art with words
the way a painter uses color
we want to share a special,
personal vision of the world
we can create images
and use figure of speech
like a painters colors
our words can put the
imagination to work
help readers see in new
unexpected ways.
we are like musicians
concerned with sound
creating a pleasing melody
is what we stride for
we choose words carfuly
and revise repeatedly
until reaching the climax
of sound
we are like sculptors
concerned with shape
and form.
revising is chiseling words
for the shape desired
we concern ourselves
with the length of our lines
and use units called stanzas
as a tool
we have strict forms and
forms for the free

"Art" is a term that too many interpret too restrictively, I think. I've been having this conversation repeatedly of late... YES! Poetry... painting... music... sculpting --- putting these various forms of art together on the page here makes perfect sense to me. I love that you have done so and don't find this piece "rough" at all. Well done.

Awasome draft, I cant wait to see yje finished piece of art you are creating. Poetry is art and I think people that dont realise that shoud read this piece.
