~~~~~
You said to let go
So I said a prayer
For God to prepare a home
For you up there
With the closing of your eyes
You took your last breath
Your soul flew
And your body rest
Gone, but not forgotten
Your legacy lives on
Through your children
Whose values are strong
And every Sunday
We come to see
Your grave and to bring flowers
Under the old oak tree
Such feelings, written with this write, of beautiful fond memories. Yes, they will forever........and will for the kids. My memories of my mom do, and she has only been gone for 2 1/2 yrs. I know it must hurt, yet you know they are in a better place. Lovely write to share.
Gosh Jeff, this reminds me so much of my Aunt who died of Cancer 3 yrs ago. She was hanging on so hard until my Uncle and I told her we would be o.k. We would miss her but we knew she was tired and she would always be with us in our hearts. If she wanted to let go, we understood and would follow all her wishes. Within 30 minutes she was gone. It is so strange how they will hang on through such horrific pain for their loved ones. We know that she is with us everyday and will watch over us until we join her. I am so sorry for your loss, but I know the feelings you had and send blessings to you and your family.
Rita
