Departing in silence, your screams muted
Without so much as a note, your life waned
Disappearing into the statistics and figures
Of a grim, dawning society of self-inflicted death

Blood, once a vivid red; now a congealed scarlet
Your eyes, once a luminescent jade; now lifeless
You conflict with the stark white tiles in this state
Your salvation glistens with droplets of crimson
Scintillating as it rests awkwardly in your pale, stiffened fist

All I can do is stare. After all, there is no hope for you
I kneel down before your gaunt, diminished body
And gently kiss your cold lips and hold you in my arms
A solitary tear stains my face, as I weep for your life
The contrariety of life and death adorns the bathroom floor
Where I sit with your body, pallor and pallid, in my arms

I know you did it because you thought there was no other way
And in a sense I understand. As much as anyone could anyway
For inside your beautiful mind hid the root of your anguish and pain
Rotting you from the inside like an unwanted piece of fruit
Voices. All those voices contradicting you, they won the war in the end
I hope you’ll be waiting for me, when my war has been fought
As I will be for you.

A very dramatic and despairing piece, while somehow still letting the love show through.
Well done.

good structure and syntax, tragic imagery
Indeed, they are not cowards, those who actively choose to pass before us.

Wow... that is all I am capable of uttering, but
this was both chilling and beautiful at the
same time I loved it. This piece reminded me
a bit of the poet Cancer which I can assure
you is high praise indeed. Any words I utter
could never do this write justice, but the
imagery was truly haunting and I thank you
for sharing this one. You have amazing talent
my friend.

Peace,
Joel

Your poem touched me. I have a friend that tried to kill herself but did not succed. I am great full for that. But I could only imagen what it would be like if she had not failed. To she her in that peaceful slumber and knowing it didn't have to be that way.
